Sherri Sandifer to Perform at St. Matthew!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 11, 2010 to enjoy some hometown jazz and R&B as St. Matthew welcomes its own Sherri Sandifer in concert at 3:00 p.m. with saxophonist Perry Richard. The performance will be in the sanctuary with a “meet and greet” afterwards in the fellowship hall. All proceeds from the free will offering that day will go to the “playground project” at St. Matthew. Please bring some friends for this special event!
Sherri Sandifer, a native Houstonian, is a pianist, flutist, vocalist, and songwriter, as well as a pediatrician. She has performed for numerous church events, NBA and WNBA games, and corporate events. Her upcoming R&B/soul album of original songs will be available in 2010. The album is produced by Grammy-winning producer Dru Castro, who has recorded with india.arie, Usher, and Mary J. Blige to name a few.
Perry Richard, originally from Orange, Texas and now a Houstonian, is a jazz saxophonist. He has performed with the likes of legendary musicians Cab Calloway and Ed Shaughnessy (former drummer from the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson). He has performed locally at venues such as Grooves, the Belvedere, The Social, and The Jazz Bistro.
Sherri and Perry are thrilled to be coming together to perform at St. Matthew.
